For domains that are related (i.e. site.com and subdomain.site.com), Session Rewind can capture activities across both domains into one single session as long as the userID is identical and the same Session Rewind API key is present in the recording script.

For billing purposes, activity on each subdomain will count as a session, even though they will be combined during playback. For analytics purposes, sessions will show up independently.

During playback, you can identify a session that spans multiple domains with a dotted indicator in the timeline.

If you are using the createNewSession: true initialization parameter in our Installation, the session will be excluded from merging.

In most cases, Session Rewind will use the TLD+1 (top level domain + 1) to merge sessions together. In the case of platforms with public suffixes, they will be used to group sessions together. A list of public suffixes can be found here.
